2017-2018 Vienna Cultural & Music Tour
2018 was a milestone year for Impact Youth Club (IYC) as we expanded from Central New Jersey into South New Jersey, growing our membership to more than 70 dedicated youth volunteers. This growth enabled us to broaden our community outreach and make an even greater impact.
Our signature Senior Center Concerts program expanded to 10 senior living communities, where volunteers shared music, companionship, and holiday craft activities throughout the year. In July, IYC celebrated its 5th International Concert and Cultural Tour with a memorable trip to Vienna, Austria, offering young musicians an exceptional opportunity to perform, experience one of the world's great musical capitals, and participate in cultural exchange.
The dedication of our volunteers continued to earn national recognition, with many members receiving the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) for their outstanding commitment to community service. Together, these achievements marked another year of growth, leadership, and meaningful impact.
Hurricane Harvey Relief
In September 2017, following the devastating impact of Hurricane Harvey, IMPACT Youth Club (IYC) organized a community fundraising hike at the Duck Farm to support disaster relief efforts. The event brought together youth volunteers, families, and residents who united for a common purpose: to help communities recover from one of the most destructive hurricanes in U.S. history.
Through the generosity of participants and supporters, the fundraiser raised more than $2,000 for hurricane relief. The fundraising event demonstrated how young people can inspire meaningful action and make a positive impact beyond their own communities. The success of the initiative reflected our commitment to compassion, service, and empower youth.
Vienna Cultural & Music Tour
In the summer of 2018, Impact Youth Club (IYC) embarked on its 6th International Concert and Cultural Tour, traveling to Vienna, Austria—the world-renowned capital of classical music. Our young musicians immersed themselves in the city's rich musical heritage while gaining invaluable cultural and artistic experiences.
A highlight of the tour was a prestigious performance at the Mozarthaus Vienna, where IYC musicians showcased their talents in one of the world's most iconic musical settings. Beyond the stage, members explored Vienna's historic landmarks and attended concerts at many of the city's renowned music halls, deepening their appreciation for classical music and cultural heritage.
A Year of IMPACT: 2018 Recap
From nearly doubling our membership and successfully expanding into South Jersey, to bringing joy to 10 senior centers and performing on some of the grandest stages in Vienna, 2018 was truly an extraordinary year of growth and achievement. We are deeply grateful to every student, teacher, and community member who contributed their time and passion to making these memories possible.
