2013-2014 Expanding Horizons Through Music, Service & Leadership
In 2014, IMPACT Youth Club (IYC) embarked on its first international music and service trip to Beijing, China. More than 20 talented young musicians and youth volunteers traveled together to participate in a prestigious music festival and competition while immersing themselves in Beijing's rich history, culture, and artistic traditions.
A meaningful highlight of the trip was visiting a local senior living center, where members presented a special concert for the residents. Their performances filled the room with music, smiles, and heartfelt moments, bringing joy to the audience while reminding the students that their talents could make a positive difference beyond the concert stage. The visit reflected IYC's belief that music is not only an art form but also a powerful way to serve others and strengthen communities.
By combining musical excellence, cultural exploration, and volunteer service, the Beijing trip became an unforgettable experience that inspired students to use their talents with purpose. It reinforced IYC's mission of developing compassionate young leaders who make a meaningful impact through music, service, and cultural understanding.
President's Volunteer Service Award
That same year, IYC became a certified organization for the President's Volunteer Service Award (PVSA), recognizing its commitment to volunteerism and youth leadership. This important milestone reflected the organization's growing impact and its dedication to inspiring young people to serve their communities with compassion, integrity, and purpose. Since becoming a PVSA Certifying Organization, IYC has proudly recognized hundreds of youth volunteers for their outstanding service, encouraging generations of young leaders to make a lasting difference in their communities.
