Impact Youth
The IMPACT Youth program remains the heart of IYC. It provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills, explore their interests, and make a positive difference through volunteer service and educational experiences.
Volunteer Projects
Youth members participate in a wide variety of community service initiatives, including environmental conservation, senior outreach, educational support, fundraising, music performances, healthcare projects, and many other hands-on service opportunities. Through these experiences, members learn compassion, teamwork, responsibility, and servant leadership while making a meaningful impact in their communities.
Youth Education
Learning extends beyond volunteer hours. IYC offers workshops, leadership training, college and career exploration, guest speakers, and educational programs that help students build practical life skills, expand their knowledge, and prepare for future success. Members are encouraged to become confident leaders, effective communicators, and engaged global citizens.
Consulting Services
As members gain experience and expertise, IYC provides opportunities for youth to share their knowledge with others. Whether mentoring younger students, offering peer guidance, assisting community organizations, or sharing specialized skills, members learn that leadership includes helping others grow and succeed.
Active Volunteer Projects
Music Concerts & Holiday Celebrations at Senior Centers
IYC volunteers are dedicated to bringing joy, companionship, and a sense of belonging to older adults through music and community celebrations. Over the years, our members have presented instrumental concerts and organized seasonal events, including Lunar New Year, Valentine's Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas celebrations.
To further brighten their days, our volunteers also create handmade holiday cards filled with warm wishes and words of encouragement. These thoughtful, personalized cards remind seniors that they are remembered and appreciated. Through music, celebration, and simple acts of kindness, IYC volunteers help reduce social isolation while fostering lasting connections and enriching the lives of those they serve.
Handmade Comfort Gifts For Children
IYC volunteers create handmade comfort gifts to bring warmth, encouragement, and hope to children and families facing difficult circumstances. Our volunteers crochet colorful Worry Worms for children undergoing cancer treatment, each accompanied by a heartfelt message reminding them that they are brave, loved, and never alone. We also knit baby beanies and other small comfort items for premature babies in neonatal intensive care units (NICU), providing warmth and a personal touch for newborns and their families.
Through these projects, our youth learn the value of compassion and empathy while demonstrating how even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
BuDai Puppet Show
During the Taiwan SDG Service Trip, IYC members collaborated with local youth volunteers to learn and perform the traditional BuDai Puppet Show, a treasured Taiwanese performing art.
Inspired by the experience, our U.S. members brought the puppets, costumes, and performance techniques back to America. We created two original BuDai puppet productions and performed them at local schools, senior centers, and community events. They introduced audiences to Taiwan's rich cultural heritage while combining storytelling, music, and education in an engaging way. A meaningful addition to IYC's cultural outreach and demonstrated how international exchange can inspire creativity and cross-cultural understanding.
Environmental Conservation
IYC volunteers are committed to protecting and preserving the environment through hands-on service projects that promote sustainability and environmental responsibility. Our members participate in a variety of environmental initiatives, including park and beach cleanups, habitat restoration, recycling efforts, community Earth Day celebrations, and environmental education programs.
Members develop a deeper appreciation for nature by working together to protect natural spaces and promote environmental awareness. They learn that even small actions can make a lasting impact on both local communities and the world around them.
Giving Garden - Growing with Purpose
The IYC Giving Garden Project teaches youth volunteers the value of growing, sharing, and giving back to the community. Working together, members plant, cultivate, and harvest fruits, vegetables, herbs, and flowers while learning about gardening, sustainability, and environmental responsibility. The harvest is shared with families, neighbors, and local organizations in need, demonstrating how even a small garden can make a meaningful impact. Through this project, volunteers develop teamwork, responsibility, and an appreciation for the importance of caring for both people and the environment.
