2024: Global Goals, International Service, and Record Growth
The year 2024 was a landmark period defined by significant expansion and a commitment to international service, resulting in a dramatic increase in IYC's impact. The key theme for the year was aligning our efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which culminated in a transformative international service trip.
94 Members
6469 Hours
30 PVSA Awards
The year 2024 recorded 94 active members across our now firmly established branches in New Jersey, California, and Taiwan, our collective dedication soared. Volunteers contributed an impressive 6,469 service hours - a massive jump from the previous year—and earned 30 President’s Volunteer Service Awards (PVSA). The key theme for the year was aligning our efforts with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which culminated in a transformative international service trip.
The IYC International SDG Service Trip to Taiwan
Marking a major return to international travel, IYC organized its first SDG Service Trip to Taiwan. Over 30 members participated, dedicating eight days in Taipei to meaningful service and cultural exchange. The trip agenda was packed with activities designed to address multiple SDGs, including:
Charity Concerts for local communities.
Senior Center Visits to foster intergenerational connection.
Historical Site Restoration work, contributing to cultural preservation.
In addition to service, members toured the glamorous city sites and formed strong cross-branch friendships, making the trip a success in both service delivery and personal development.

Bringing the BuDai Puppet Show Home
During the Taiwan service trip, IYC members collaborated with Taiwanese members to perform the BuDai Puppet Show—a captivating, traditional Taiwanese performance art. Deeply inspired by this experience, our U.S. members brought the art form, including beautiful puppet costumes and figures, back to America. The team then created two unique BuDai shows and successfully performed them at local schools and senior centers, introducing a rich, new cultural dimension to our performance portfolio and receiving great acclaim.
2024 was truly a year of accelerated growth and global thinking. The successful SDG service trip to Taiwan not only provided crucial international service but also enriched our club's culture with new performance arts like the BuDai Puppet Show. By achieving 6,469 service hours, our members demonstrated phenomenal dedication. We successfully completed our transition year, and with our branches now synchronized and energized, we look forward to carrying this momentum into the future with even greater success and continued global impact.
